While you are waiting for perfection.

“Ever spent your whole life waiting for the life you want to live?”

Life goes on and I still have all sorts of ‘needs’. I can not meet all my desires in perfect timing just as the rest of world fails to. As my dreams take a backseat to the seasons and all the good things take their sweet dear time, I am meeting today’s expectations with whatever next best thing I can organise.

I have practised a good amount of compromise. All seasoned veterans in the games of adulting have lived what they were told as toddlers, ‘you can not always have what you want’. They themselves might very well be passing on the gospel to their offspring, as the bitter truth comes full circle. Generations after generations.

To the stubborn, I stand on the frontline with you. Complacency is a cup we will not down without a fight. ‘I rather not have anything at all if I can not have what I truly desire’, is the chant that echoes our hearts.

I have battle scars. As a tribute, they are even winning the fight against tissue oil. A badge pinned to remind me of the protest I put up. They are a personal reminder when I stand in the mirror. No survivors guilt.

‘I will not settle for second best’ Ms Johnson shouted.

Ms Johnson dedicated her youth to the pursuit of a tailored made reality and to in her favour she attained it. It might have taken her longer than anyone could have wished for but that is just water under the bridge.

Not so long into her reality, as she laid in her figure hugging reality. She seat up to the fact that she had lost all appreciation for such a style and fit.

Leather is luxurious and everything else imaged but her body had breathed through cotton all those years she sweated to get it all.

She could not bare it, she divorced her dream and returned to the one who had loved her through it all, her strive.
